Though a microscopic minority in India, public schools have played a critical role in the cause of nation-building. In addition to academic achievement, physical health and the inculcation of certain fundamental values, the goal of public schools is overall personality growth. Basically, a public school is a boarding school with some facilities to understand the optimal potential of young minds. These schools have a broad variety of possibilities to channel their resources through positive purposes. A public school product is not a mere bookworm but a real-life wizard who applies his expertise in realistic situations. He is versatile to adjust to the changed circumstances with each setback with a renewed zeal and continues to work hard until the dream is realized. Public schools educate young people to face life in its entirety. They build today's empathy, comradeship, a sense of team spirit and coexistence. They are modest in triumph and graceful in disappointment. In later life, the bonds of friendship forged here become pillars of power. They get on with all kinds of individuals, gain their confidence and lead them in different spheres. We need young people who are physically fit, mentally resilient and socially appropriate as the nation moves through a crucial juncture. Sainik Schools ensure that the physical, academic, emotional characteristics and aesthetic sensibilities of cadets are harmoniously formed to form them as unified personalities. These schools introduce the cadets to a range of daring practices in order to immerse diverse qualities such as bravery, trust, resilience and tenacity in them. Personal values such as self-discipline, secular outlook, labour dignity and honesty are inculcated by them. Sainik School Kapurthala's curriculum helps the cadets to discover and understand their ability to the fullest. The galaxy of graduates who have won accolades for their rare accomplishments in diverse fields is a testament to the institution's laudable teaching.
